Not only is the GOP disintegrating due to corrupt thinking on the immigration question, it seems that the blogosphere is bailing the boat as well.
There's only one position for a conservative, and that is the Constitutional position, the "what would the Founders do" position.
For the life of me, I fail to see any sort of amnesty for illegals being Constitutional. The "head of the line privilege" that Presidente Bush wants for illegals currently in the country is a serious departure from current law, and as such, deserves more legal study before even being suggested.
The "buy your way to citizenship" system puts a Federal stamp of approval on the business and government corruption that allowed this problem to get to it's current extreme level.
I've sworn oaths, multiple times, to defend the US AND it's Constitution.
I'm not backing down now. Even though retired, those oaths still mean more to me than any words I've ever repeated.
This blog stands firmly opposed to the President's program, and will call a spade a spade.
And to the Polipundit, should he descend to the mini-blog level to read this, don't take the departure of your co-bloggers too badly. If you're short a writer or two, email me, I'll scribe for you. You and I are on the side of the Constitution, and that's the only side to be on.
