Ach! Der Knoppix!

Ach! Der CD ist in haltsverzeichnis!

Translating, I'm test-driving Knoppix, a Linux-based OS that runs off a CD. There is no Windows running on this Windows machine.

I'm doing everything off the CD, which is acting in stead of my hard disk to run the OS from. Sound familiar? If you've been computing as long as I have, you will have done this before, back in the day of Win 3.0.

I like it, for the most part.

Test, test, testing
Open Office test
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party.
Test, out

Try Ubuntu, you won't be sorry. It has the same type LiveCD single download, but gives you stable updates regularly. Installs to HD and runs off CD. I use it regularly as a HD install. It's free as well.

Knoppix is good for repairing broke installs and other problems, not so good as a full time use distribution. Knoppix started the whole thing with LiveCDs.
