Watched a lot of booming that I wasn't signed up for. Aaron of Dad's Garage made it in late, and we had a fine dinner of Tommy's BBQ Brisket & beans, then cleaned up and now have the camper set up to resist the below-freezing temps to come tonight. The weather forecast is turning bad, and it may snow on us tomorrow and Sunday. Ya gotta be tougher than the weather, I guess. Got pictures, but no high speed, so they will have to wait.
Beans 'n Bacon. Basic, but a universal side dish. Went well with the BBQ:
Here's Aaron heating up Tommy's brisket, lugged all the way from Texas.
Note the dry staple, JERKY! We had plenty, but always managed to find the time to feed ourselves hot meals. The lunch wagon was usually closed when WE needed something, but they opened for a short breakfast and a shorter lunch.
Watched an old master, "Mike", try and not succeed to get the required accuracy out of his accurized AR, so he pulled out a wildcatted boltie in 6.5X47, fired one round, got one boomer, fired another round, got another boomer, put the rifle away. His only words? "That one's a shooter". Mike is the master of understatement so far at Boomershoot.
"High Intensity" WAS intense, and we rocked the mountains here at Boomershoot.
I'm going to try to sign on with Major Econ for a one-day course tomorrow to tune up for the big event on Sunday.
Time to hit the rack for a get-up with the chickens.
Later.
