My letter to the Oregonian newspaper this ayem:
Editors:
I faithfully read the Letters page every day because I want to
know what the Community is thinking and writing. Ever since the
Newtown Massacre, I've been reading mostly letters from folks who
are afraid of guns being in their lives, or people who have a
political agenda including the un-making of the Second Amendment
to the Constitution.
Overall, though, most of these letters ignore the "900-pound
gorilla in the room", that being the undisputed fact that the
Second Amendment is ALL and ONLY about maintaining a paramilitary
force called Militia, capable of unseating the Federal Government
if need be. The Right to keep and bear arms is about the right of
the People to be armed, not for "sporting purposes" as the BATFE
has concluded, but for preparing to conduct paramilitary
operations with a "well-regulated militia". That right is
absolute, "shall not be infringed".
In my military and law enforcement careers, I've sworn about ten
oaths to preserve this Constitution, Nation and this State from it's
enemies, foreign and domestic. I consider myself still bound by
each oath. I am not alone.
Well said!!! ... I hope the liberal & daily dead fish wrapper prints it!
