In news of Microsoft, the Rivrdog learns that they have ordered the Nazi swastika removed from one of their products, Office 2003. It's probably only there in a clip art image, something you could refer to or add to a document. They also removed the Star of David. Microsoft, we're fair, balanced and soooooo politically correct, which nowadays has come to mean anti-Semitic.
Do you suppose there are textbooks in Israel that show the Nazi symbol? You bet there are, if for no other reason than to reinforce "Never Forget".
Tip thanks to Kim Komando, the excellent computer learning site.
Update: Let's have a test of the Blogger Alert System. This is a real test. All Bloggers, link to this post so I can pass this message on. I have some extra money sitting around that I will probably just buy more guns or computer gear with, but I will also offer it as a reward to any Microsoft employee who forwards me authentic emails between actual MS managers showing the real reasons why the above actions were taken. The reward is $500.00
Update 2: Over at Useful Fools, John ("I'm not Mike") Moore says that Microsoft canceled an entire font, called Bookshelf Symbol 7. I don't recall them canceling a font without obsoleting the suite it was attached to before, and this is a new suite. I guess they have the computer power to determine that they have more Islamic customers than Jewish customers, but maybe they didn't count on either Jew-sympathizers or anti-PC conservatives (I am both, don'tcha know).
They didn't remove the font, they just removed two versions of the swastika ("square" and "diagonal") and the Star of David from Bookshellf Symbol 7. It was done in one of their "Critical updates" that you computer asks you to automatically carry out if you have that set up.
