I'm sitting here examining a 7.62x51 cartridge made in China. Brass is marked W C C 87. I suspect it originated as once-fired US military brass that was bought up by the Chinese. Anyway, it has a steel jacketed bullet, that is copper coated. I cut the bullet near the case mouth, and just behind the tip. I was expecting to also find a steel core, but except for a very tiny one at teh tip, no core in this one. I suspect the copper coating is primarily to stop rusting, as it is very thin, maybe a couple thou. It may also be to help the lead adhere to the steel. I can see the little tip/core piece is also copper coated.

The Commies only expect a rifle barrel to last 6k rounds at most, firing their typical steel jacketed, steel cased ammo.

There were several blogs that talked about ammo starting fires: SayUncle, maybe Tam, SharpMarble, Boomershoot? Last week, or so. Lots of commentors talked of personal experience.

And coupled with the current U.N effort to steal away our rights, freedoms and protections secured in our Constitution (see this link).....

"And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever." - Thomas Jefferson - Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 18, 1781

How long shall we slumber.... I fear we all will be killed in our sleep!

It's obvious propoganda. I heard on the news they were blaming 25 fires on shooting. I've seen many thousands of rounds downrange and never has a fire resulted.
