American commerce and shoddy goods

There was a time in this Nation's history when we could produce quality goods in any desired quantities, and we had the logistics to get them to global markets.

That time has passed, and due mostly to the "woke" banks, all subservient to the Communist Chinese, our industries produce quality goods only in small amounts, usually only for local distribution.

 

Here are two examples from MY house: Example one: I usually buy Vanity Fair brand paper table napkins. Last week, while marketing, I noticed some in HIGHLY similar packaging, picked up the two different brands and selected the "Everyday" brand, it was a dollar cheaper for the same 200-count package. I get them home and load the napkin holder on my table. The new napkins are useful only as four-folded. Doubled, they don't work, they tear when wiping the mouth.

Example two: Activia Yogurt: I've used it for years, it keeps the gut-flora on an even keel. I still use it, but I will probably change now, since the makers ultra-cheapened the packaging. The company which used to make it, Dannon, is now called "Danone US" Here's the Wiki. The serving size is the same, 113 grams, but it's now packaged in a cheaper plastic tub which cracks open easily, and the foil top of the tub can't be removed in one piece to access the contents, it is very light material now, shreds as it's being removed. The contents seem to be the same as before the package-cheapening.

Okay, a third example. Passenger cars. There is so much plastic in the bodies of them now that a minor under-hood fire, which previously could be extinguished with a small dry-powder extinguisher, now requires a fire company, and if one isn't almost on top of you when your car catches fire, your car is only a pavement scorch 5 minutes later. The auto manufacturers will tell us they have to use the flammable plastic now, it's the only way to get the weight down enough that the smaller motors can propel the cars like we want them to. I conclude that the so-called "CAFE-standards" are killing cars and some people. Those folks are dying because of a myth, that higher gas mileage in cars will save the planet from a horrible (un-specified) fate. Of course, there are those Elites (spit!) who don't want us to drive at all...

New month, new hopes, need more work on getting ready. End of first-of-the-month platitudes.

The GOPers backed down, passed a 45-day CR, so no default until the middle of November. GOPer hopefuls are having a good time pretending Trump doesn't matter. There's never been a massive write-in campaign in the history of our Presidential elections, but there might be one next year.

If that campaign were to actually ELECT Trump, but the Dem/Commies denied him his seat, THAT would start Civil War. Bright line there, yes. Time for blather over then, you're going to fight for Trump and your Constitution or you're going to fight for a tyrant to replace that document. I don't see a middle ground, do YOU?

In the meanwhile, look for Blue States to try to lock Trump out by refusing to accept write-in ballots. This will PROVE intent to have Tyranny replace the Constitution.

Veteran suicide

As a combat veteran, well and truly shot at a fair amount in the unfriendly skies of the Vietnam war, I am amazed at the non-veteran, catch-all campaign against veteran suicide.

Please consider this ONE salient point here: The vast majority of combat veterans are NOT afraid of death. Their training removed that worry, and successful combat operations reinforced it. In fact, dying heroically has been glorified in all military structures since the beginning of organized warfare. Dying in combat IS the ultimate expression of a soldier's duty performed. Why then, are these non-combat REMFs (look that slang up) so insistent that a veteran CHOOSING death over life are so puzzled by veterans who make that ultimate choice?

Military slang, and attempts to devalue it

On my Facebook sidebar, Sugar Mountain* wants me to open a story of how CRUDE slang used by WW2 military people was(no links to the enemy) Not going to the story, it's clickbait and social-credit fodder, but I WILL say this:

In WW2, soldiers, sailors and Marines were trusted to take the initiative, engage and kill their Axis enemies. In battle, and I've been there, when you HAVE time to speak, you use your time to communicate with your fellow troops. You develop a patois of acronyms, and the verbiage to support those. These words are not polite, they are short-cuts to another military person's experience. To apply today's TWISTED morality and political correctness to such battlefield slang is pointless, but it's also revealing:

It reveals the histrical ignorance of those who engage in this form of chicanery.

Here in this Instagram post. Will have to authenticate it, but since this government is SOOO good at accepting badnasties, I'll put it in the file. If true, it's aimed right between the eyes of the fishing industry AND recrecreational boaters. Fit's right into the Gates-plan for depopulation.

China, an Insider's View

This essay, long and complex, details the advantages President-for-Life Xi Jinping uses in his control of the People's Republic of China, and at the same time, it details where his ironclad control has led the PROC in the wrong directions.

Missing from this curiously strong introspection is mention of exterior relations. The only part of THAT mentioned is the undying thirst of Xi to annex Taiwan. Also not well-mentioned is the fate of the PROC's money supply, alluded to a couple of times but not really germane to this discussion.

All in all, though, this is a valuable look at the PROC, the Chinese Communist Party and how the people of China live, work and think.

Read it, you might have to come back a couple of times, it's not an easy, breezy read, but neither is the subject matter.

Climate change Elitism - 1500 private jets

It doesn't get any more in-our-faces than this: 3,000 attendees to the World Economic Forum go to Davos Switzerland in 1,500 private jets. Most of the jets have luxury seats for 8 to 12 in them. Two elites per airplane this time and they are already trying to get us out of our fuel powered cars. No, not just your Earth-Thumper SUVs, now it's all fuel-driven cars, even your 57 mpg Prius'. 

I don't give a flying eff what they discussed there, for me, this is elitism at it's worst.

Dealing with the Lockdowns - Oregon version

There are two ways for the State Government of Oregon to make a Disaster Declaration. One is in the Oregon Constitution, in Article X, Section A. the other is an ordinary State Law, ORS 401.165, Declaring States of Emergency, referring to COUNTIES asking for this help, but they MUST provide details.

 

Have any of my readers seen those County Requests for Declaration? I haven't.

 

The ORS also says the Governor may declare such an Emergency, but it alludes to there being a requirement for details. I haven't seen Kate's details. Of interest to me would be which "models" or guesses she relied upon to declare the ENTIRE state was in mortal danger from Covid-19.

 

Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20, and now we know that the original models and predictions were HIGHLY inaccurate, as they predicted death at the rate of 3% of population when, in fact, the actual death rate has been TWO-TEN-THOUSANDTHS OF ONE PERCENT.

 

Why will NO ONE of SUBSTANCE front up Governor Brown and ask for or DEMAND the answers to these "pesky details"?

 

Basing a major societal change which tosses constitutions out the window on inaccurate data has been done before, says my History Book.

 

For example, Hitler did it on 9/1/1939 when he invaded Poland and started World War Two in Europe, after declaring that Germans living in the section of Poland known as the Sudetenland were in mortal danger from racist Poles trying to kill them. Now the Democratic Party USA has done it right here, when our gullible President went along with inaccurate data (deliberately inaccurate or just sloppily inaccurate is still to be determined), so our Nation's economy lies in ruins after the two-month shut-down which was not required.

 

My take on all this is that it has now happened to the good old USA and can't be UN-DONE, so we need to bend our backs now, get back to work, rebuild our economic structures and above all, DON'T LET THE SAME CREW COCK IT UP AGAIN!

 

America, put on your working clothes, pick up your lunch pails, and head for your work-place. If the Management is too afraid of the government to re-open, first, tell those caviling wimps that you have their backs, and if they still won't open, kick them to the curb, go into the factory floor and start the production lines YOURSELVES!.

 

We are either the victims of the stupidest move by our governance ever, or we are the victims of a cruel political move to kill freedom. In both cases, the solution is GET BACK TO WORK, AMERICA!

Sunday sadness scribbling

I'm from an old and prolific Portland medical family, & I'm normally highly sympathetic with the medical profession.

 

I've turned, though. The obvious fact is that most doctors have chugged the commie Kool-Aid, and keep chugging it.

 

I profile a lot. I was taught how to do it in the various police academies I attended and in follow-on LEO training courses, plus profiling is just organizing common sense.

 

My main profiling these days is to classify and categorize the political opposition to our Constitutional Republic, but you already know that if you follow me on Facebook or on this Rivrdog Blog.

 

I will now profile the medical profession, and it isn't looking good for them. Here are my profile qualifiers:

1. Do you (choose one) a. Tolerate, b. Support or c. Actively Defend and advocate for Socialized Medicine? (record answer and move on)

2. In your entire office or suite of offices in a medical comples, is there a single US Flag on display? (record answer and move on)

3. If your work is for a health maintenance org claiming a religious afiliation, do you refer low-spirit cases to practitioners of the religion? (record answer and move on)

4. As to Covid-19, do you (choose one): a. Tolerate, b. Support or c. Actively Defend the suppression of alternate views on the USA's response to the disease vector? (record answer and calculate results):

 

Perfect (good) profile (rates Zero)

Item one should be a "no" on any of the three choices.

Item two should be a "yes"

Item three should be a "yes"

Item four should be a "no" on any of the three choices.

 

Here's the bad part: I have two offspring in the medical profession. One rates between 1 and 2, the other between 3 and 4, and they are nowhere as PROFESSIONALLY antagonistic towards the Republic as some other medical providers I've encountered in the past ten years or so.

 

In conclusion, I'm going to put it all together: the two most important professions in this USA are Information movers (newsies, computer gurus, etc) and Medical Providers. Both those professions are badly compromised as to maintaining the health and vibrancy of our Constitution and governance according to it.

 

Looking for what profession DOES unilaterally support our Constitution and governance according to it, I find only Veterans. A few months ago, I would have said Veterans and LEOs (I am retired from both professions), but the LEO profession has guzzled enough commie Kool Aid to remove themselves now as saviors of the American Way, following the Information movers right over the Marxist cliff.

 

Result? Of the 8.5 million Veterans, MAYBE 5 million are fit to fight for this Republic against the communist hordes.

 

Those aren't very good odds.

I'm worried

I'm worried.

I'm worried that the D-Rats, who DO know that this 'Peaching is uniting Trump's base, will continue anyway b/c it's all they have. 'Peaching lets them ignore their actual job of offering real solutions for real issues, but the Ds will finally figure out how to make impeachment work. That would include sucking in the RINOS in the Senate, as some have feared, b/c McConnell has FAR less than iron-hand control over the GOPes there.

However, the D-Rats' impeachment success would bring them Pence, who will be President before the Ds can actually ax Trump: (Trump will resign to allow this transition), and then run on his own for Eight More with his own base plus Trump's old base, and the Ds will quickly find out that Pence is FAR more inflexible than Trump on Social Engineering issues (abortion after heatbeat goes away under Pence, it probably won't under Trump), and Hollywood's culture-destroying entertainment moguls get to be real Pence targets, just to name a couple of changes towards more Conservative days with a POTUS-Pence.

No, if the Democrats do succeed with impeachment, their past 4+ years of anti-Trump work goes into the dumpster, b/c they didn't target CONSERVATISM at the outset, they came up with "Orange Man Bad" instead. Their strategic error is America's joy.
