Yeah, I can't do a full "Skeeter Load" with the Charter Arms. I might could go a half-grain higher, though. I should work up about 10 rounds each of 6.7 and 6.9 grains...

PawPaw, has anyone ever experimented with permanent lube (Alox) for jacketed bullets to reduce the starting friction?

Skeeter's load for .44 Special is 7.5 grains of Unique under a 240 lead bullet. It gives me 971 fps out of my Blakhawk.

Interestingly, it's over max at the Alliant website for cast bullets, but under max for jacketed bullets. We all know that cast bullets move at lower pressures than jacketed, so my thought is that Alliant is being conservative on their cast loads.

Regardless, that load has become my go-to load for the .44 Special.
