My standard .44 Special load is 7.5 grains of Unique under a 240 LSWC bullet, lit by a standard primer. That gives me 950 fps out of my Super Blackhawk and is a load promulgated by none other than the late Skeeter Skelton. As such, I call it Skeeter's Load.

In a snubby, your mileage might vary, but I've found it to be very effective in barrels of standard length. Very satifying. Very accurate.
