A 380 ACP "pocket pistol", 6+1, 13 oz and almost an inch wide (if it ain't square, it ain't Glock!). $475 msrp.
Well, what will it's advantages be? None, other than if you are already trained on Glocks, you're trained on the Model 42.
According to the uber-knowledgeable The Firearm Blog, all of that above, and there are photos there. Their article says it will have a 3.1" barrel. According to ME, that puts the gun in the MARGINAL category for ballistic performance with the .380ACP. For a 6" long pistol of that price, you are getting only a tiny bit more oomph at the target than you would with a Kel-Tec or Ruger mousegun, which costs considerably less and is a much easier pocket carry.
For a .380, you need a 4" barrel. You give up about 100 fps with the inch shorter barrel. That 100 fps equals 40 foot-pounds of muzzle energy. Also, hollow point ammo has a basic rule or two: none of it opens below 800 fps at the body, and most of it blows apart at 1200 fps and up. We can disregard Rule #2, you won't be getting 1200 fps on the target out of your 380*, but if you get a shorter barrel, you could easily go below 800 fps after penetrating normal clothing. The 380 is always marginal this way. That's why some elect to use a heavier solid bullet instead of an expanding type.
I'm carrying a Walther PP presently, with a 4" barrel and uprated Wolff springs. It will eat all the hot 380 I can put into it, but it still likes round-nose ball as well. It's heavier by 10 oz than the Glock, and .3" wider, all of which is in the safety/decocking lever. It is all steel except for grips and magazine finger-extension. It is good steel, being a pre-war PP made in the Zella-Mehlis factory.
I wish Glock all the luck in the world (as if they needed it), but as long as they were designing a pistol from the ground up, around the 380 cartridge, I can't fathom why they didn't give it the advantage of a 4" barrel. Any gun is better than not carrying at all, but if you are going to restrict yourself to 380, do yourself a favor and get one with a longer barrel. The muzzle energy you gain with anyone's ammo might just save your life.

* BTW, if money is no object (and it shouldn't be when buying defense ammo), go here to Buffalo Bore and look at their hot 380ACP. There are a couple of rounds there that push 300 #/ft muzzle energy, equal to light ball in 9mm Luger (9X19). This performance is better than .38 Special in the guns with a 3.5" barrel, and about equal to 38 Special in the mouseguns (Kel-Tec P3AT and Colt Mustang Pocketlite).
